The Final Tour

Album Cover - The Final Tour

Overview

The CD comprises 20 tracks. All tracks were recorded live. Tracks 1 - 16 were recorded on 5 Nov 1994 at McCabe's Guitar Shop, Santa Monica and form a very cohesive picture of a live show, some of Ted's linking patter has been left in to good effect, particularly in setting the scene for All I Have To Offer You Is Me. Tracks 17 - 19 were recorded a month earlier and, the sleeve notes say, "Form a semi-biographical suite about his youth." It looks more like filler to me but I can live with that, especially when it's as good as Missin' Mississippi. The final track is not so explicable and I'm afraid that when my CD player gets to A Thing Called Love I find myself reaching for the auto changer. Overall though, an essential CD for every Hawkins fan.

Availability

Available at most online record stores. Should be available at most UK record shops (though I have heard that HMV seem to have difficulty getting it.) Released January 98, Evidence Records. ECD 28002-2.
