Love You Most of All |
OverviewSubtitled "More Songs From Venice Beach" this 1998 release is the companion volume to Songs From Venice Beach. The first 13 tracks on this CD were taken from the 2 volume Venice Beach Tapes, recorded in 1985 and originally released on vinyl. When the Songs From Venice Beach CD was released these tracks failed to meet the cut and were only available on a deleted Munich Records CD. All the 1985 tracks are cover versions. The 5 'bonus' tracks are Hawkins originals. So, does this album comprise of second rate tracks and a bit of filler? Well, for the most part I'd have to say yes. But the release of Love You Most of All means that the fully glory of the Venice Beach Tapes is available to the public once again. How else are you going to hear Ted singing Dock Of The Bay, Chain Gang and Your Cheatin' Heart? This isn't an album for first time buyers, but if you're already a fan then buy it and enjoy.
