24 February 2004Ron Davidse has spotted that limited edition of Billy Bragg's anthology "Must I paint you a Picture" contains a duet with Ted on the third "bonus" CD. I'm guessing that this is the version that has previously been included in one or two compilation albums. If anybody can confirm this please let me know. 1 February 2004TED HAWKINS STORY OPTIONED FOR BIG SCREEN "The life story rights of the late singer/songwriter Ted Hawkins have been optioned for a motion picture release. Jeff Cooney Films in association with First Look Pictures has licensed the exclusive film rights from Hawkins' Widow Elizabeth Hawkins. A screenplay is currently in development, depicting this unique performer's rise from a simple street singer on Venice Beach to a talent recognized around the world." Thanks to Marc K for bringing this to my attention. 26 April 2003Catfish appear to have taken The Unstoppable Ted Hawkins and Nowhere to Run/I Love You Too and packaged them together in a double CD as Ladder of Success. It has been released on Catfish's Snapper label and is available from Amazon.com for £7.99. Needless to say this is a great buy for anybody that doesn't have either of the originals and a pretty good buy if you only have one of them. If you already own both there's no need to get buy this release - to Catfish's credit they didn't seek to milk the market by adding "bonus tracks." A special thanks to Mark K for pointing out the release and then pestering me until I did something about it. 12 January 2003The Ted Hawkins Collection has been released. Does anybody have any news on this? 10 August 2002Ayo Bamidele has included a track of Ted's on his compilation The Song Makers Project Vol 1. He tells me that 10% of the profits are being donated to charity.
